Engineering Design is the process of taking idea to a tangible product.  Though design takes many forms, a common  approach includes these steps:

• Define the problem or challenge
• Identify the constraints (e.g. cost, time, manufacturability, etc.
• Brainstorm possible solutions
• Select and test
• Refine & improve design as needed.
• Communicate solution to stakeholders
